Named and grouped <ref>

Is it possible to have a reference that is both named and grouped? I'd like to use both ref name="RefIdentifier" and ref group=GroupIdentifier. My goal is to have a footnote (separate to the citations) that can be referred to at multiple points on the same page.

I've tried the following combinations:

Comma separation, both orders (i.e. <ref name="RefIdentifier", ref group=GroupIdentifier> and vice versa)
Semi-colon seperation, both orders
One space separation, both orders
Separate tags

Yes, it works. Ex:

Sint expedita molestiae quisquam veritatis reiciendis voluptas modi omnis<ref group="alpha" name="foo">Foo</ref>. Excepturi voluptates deleniti doloremque<ref group="alpha" name="foo" />. Enim quis molestiae enim<ref group="beta">Bar</ref>.

Thanks for the answer Muchos. I did show a snippet (I was trying

<ref name="identifier", ref group=identifier>

verbatim like two refs, so I understand the issue now), but didn't have the foresight to format it into a code block like you did. Sorry, been a bit frazzled in life lately :)
