Does Fandom wiki support playing animated webp files? I'm asking this because I think they can be a better alternative to gifs.
Yes, it does. WEBP is having recently supported all kind of image in that file extension.

Yes, they do, I’ve uploaded several working animated webp files to wikis I contribute to. (I edit on a tablet mostly, which likes to convert files to webp)
