On wikis, you can use any content page like a template. This broader use of the {{namespace:pagetitle}} syntax is known as transclusion. Fandom has configured the wikis so that you can also transclude content pages from here on Community Central on any other Fandom wikis. To transclude a template page from Community Central, use {{w:templatetitle}}. To translcude other content pages, use either {{:w:namespace:pagetitle}} or {{w::namespace:pagetitle}}. So if you see {{w:User:username}} on a wiki, what it is doing is transcluding Template:User:username from here on Community Central. You can create your own by editing/creating the proper template here on Community Central.
So, to be specific, for you it should be on https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Template:User:Flapii
@Flapii also, this is a better way to configure the script:
window.AutoCreateUserPagesConfig = {
content:{
2:'(insert user template here)',
3:false,
1202:false
},
summary:'(Insert custom summary here)'
};
importArticles({
type: 'script',
articles: [
'u:dev:MediaWiki:AutoCreateUserPages.js',
]
});
Do I just put that in my global.js??
If you want your userpage to be automatically created on any wiki you are editing on.
And replace the parts in parentheses with an actual template call and an actual summary.
Yes, but remove "Template:" and replace it with "{{ }}" around the template name.
Okay.
Alright, so I've been trying to use the template on the Madness Combat Wiki (profile here), and I can't seem to be able to get it to be the current version of the template. The current one is working on other wikis such as this one, but for some reason on the Madness Combat Wiki it isn't up-to-date.
Can you link the profile page on the wiki you mentioned?
I did.
What do you think?
