First UCP removing all the features we've once loved, now this removing all the layout and creativity wikia once had. The bland background amd the large text that displays on my phone is absolutely horrendous. It's always got to be something with this platform that oversimplifies it to the point where we have to redo everything on our wikis. It's not a joke. To all FANDOM users, know that nothing dear to you is ever safe. Fall to the ground and cry.
Not everything has to be simplified. This platform (like Gamepedia) had a lot of potential before that UCP update took over and made it hard to work with to the point I don't even know what it is. It is not user-friendly. I use my phone to edit and I'm still having a hard time editing FANDOM articles.
What's even worse is that I'm going to lose my grip on how to use this site. Again. Because of UCP 2: Fandom Desktop Boogaloo. Go on and ruin this platform more while you can. One day, it'll turn into a blatant copy of Google Docs. Trust me.
If you think we're "going to get used to it", no, we're gonna really miss it like Legacy. This feels like a way to attention-grab hip kids who can't learn source code. "Simplicity" and "user-friendliness" just makes you look like every money-hungry company that exists. Trying to make all of your platforms look like identical twins is not user-friendliness. It mentally hurts me seeing the same thing over and over again. Will there be a time that I won't even see a remote difference between wikis?!
This update is also pointless. I don't see any use of the update rather than a way to continue unfamiliarising familiar users with the interface.
Users, we failed last time. We will not fail to get their attention this time. The design change has to stop. We need to stop FandomDesktop from ruining Wikia.
