Okay. Why do we need to know? Fandom already knows it is import which is why that wiki was literally the last one to migrate. All other wikis were migrated months ago. Also, I checked Familypedia recently so it couldn't have been more than a few days. If I recall correctly, it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. Give it and Fandom some time and I am sure most of the issues will be dealt with as best they can. After all, Familypedia gets to benefit from the knowledge and lessons learned by Fandom when they messed-up other wikis.
Edit: Also, please change the category of your post. Technical Updates is reserved for Fandom staff.
Also, communicate this to your WR. Familypedia getting messed up was pretty much a given. Could have been way worse.
I would recommend going deeper into this when you compile a list, though. What elements causes the forum header needing manual input, or the siblings template from stopping displaying? Is it a DPL function? SMW?
Thank you both. We are doing a bit on our side to see how the updated or outdated templates etc can be made to work again, Coming from being several years behind with semantic extensions involves a lot of new things to learn and fix, as we had to do about 8 years ago. I'm sure the end result will be a great improvement. Right now, displays are much poorer than before. I'm not sure what might have messed up the forum headers. I think that that style of forum is about to be phased out.
Tupka217, if I had to guess, I would assume it is SMW that is the issue. Familypedia uses it quite heavily from what I can tell and, as you are probably aware, it was considered "not supported" long before UCP was even a thing. At least in this case, Fandom tried to port the necessary SMW extensions. The wiki I admin used SMW with an SMW extension and the extension was not ported. So now we have an entire feature missing from the wiki. It was to be expected but it still frustrates me.
Robin Patterson, my apologies if my first reply was a bit harsh. Especially given my own experience with an SMW wiki, I was just a peeved at what I perceived to be a rather self-centered complaint; especially in light of the special treatment the wiki had already received.
Unfortunately, there are likely to be a lot of display issues. UCP made some significant changes to both the underlying HTML structure of pages and the default CSS that is applied. If Familypedia's CSS was finely tuned, the it could take a while to re-tune it.
I would like to issue a correction to my previous post.
I am not sure whether it has always been there or if it was added later (and if later, when), but I discovered today that Page Forms (the missing extension I had previously mentioned) has been enabled on the wiki I admin. It just wasn't obvious because the main indication of its presence (from viewing pages) is the "Form edit" option in the edit menu which was/is not there. Apparently, the current version is no longer backwards compatible with some of the previous methods and so the extension didn't know to add the option to the menu.
What do you think?
