Edit: Apparently the front page description for FandomMobile can be changed from MediaWiki:Wiki-description-site-meta! It just doesn't support formatting, sadly.
I just saw the change on the Wiki that I run, the Real-Time Fandub Wiki, and it suddenly appeared that the custom description I'd set for the mobile main page was gone and replaced with the standard description and all the pages were the replaced with the trending pages.
I personally have a problem with this, since the traffic to those trending pages is so oversaturated. It undermines not only the customizability of FANDOM that a lot of us on Desktop are used to, but also the idea of curation that homepages are meant for. Showing only trending pages and categories isn't actually helpful to the reader, and it takes away control from the administrators who actually want to feature worthy articles or categories — instead being forced to favor whatever everyone else is reading. There are a lot of pages being ignored over the same six pages being shown all the time in a wiki with 183 articles.
I also don't understand why the "Read More" text from the desktop page was placed to the bottom instead of right below the mobile blurb. It doesn't really help anyone either and feels like a stupid move.
The only change I would keep is the addition of a "Full Site" button at the bottom of the page that lets you switch to desktop without having to do so in your browser settings.
I love the site and want it to improve just as much as anyone else, but I'd like to see it designed with the readers and editors in mind, rather than an algorithm that pushes trendy topics too high up.
