Oh, when did this happen?

Chat is not available on UCP (the new platform). Wikis lose Chat when they are migrated to UCP. All but a few wikis have already been migrated to UCP and new wikis have been using UCP since March 2020. The migration of older wikis started a few months after UCP was released for new wikis.

When wikis migrated to UCP, once they are moved to the new platform, all Chat data was deleted, MediaWiki interface pages locked and the Chat program itself is deleted

If you feel strongly about it, you can always submit your feedback to Fandom. Unless and until a similar feature is added, wikis will have to either go without or use external chat platforms like Discord.

Y'know i can create a thread chat for any wiki's that need it i'm willing to help out.

Fandom has been closing wikis where the main purpose is just to search as chat. So if that is what you are thinking, don't bother wasting your time.
