I am not sure what you are talking about. Could you please elaborate? Are you talking about the welcome tool? That doesn't exist on UCP; just legacy wikis.
Ok @Andrewds1021 I am on A Christmas Story Wiki. I just adopted it but it is an old wiki from about 12/28/2009. I am looking on my admin dashboard. On there is says advanced options. When I go to that, I see under maintenance reports it says 'Wanted pages'. I click on that and it shows me a list of wanted pages. Under there is shows: MediaWiki:Welcome-message-anon, MediaWiki:Welcome-message-log,
and MediaWiki:Welcome-user-page. I wanted to know what these things mean and how to properly make the pages. I only asked for one (IDK why) but now that I have to be more elaborate, I will just ask about all of them.
Read the Welcome tool help page linked above... it seems like you didn't.
Okay. Those pages are explained on the page I linked to so go and read that. They are not templates; they are system messages. You can just ignore them as they are not used on UCP wikis. If it really bothers you to have them on the wanted pages list, you can contact staff and see if they can do anything about it.
You can delete or edit the pages the link to those MediaWiki pages, then they will no longer be listed as wanted. Although deleting talk pages when you have message walls enabled will be somewhat tricky.
I suppose you could try that although I took a quick look at the user page and all it was was a failed transclusion of a system message. So I am confused as to how that would trigger a wanted pages entry. Then again, I have seen similar issues with broken redirects for help pages and external links for starter templates.
Thank you, I will ignore it.
Remember, I said the wiki is over ten years old.
Andrew1021, I think the "Wanted pages" page just count red links, and failed transclutions generate red links.
Perhaps, but the failed transclusion is for MediaWiki:User_Wikia; not any of the listed system messages.
What do you think?
