- It sounds like tech support will be on DPLforum, where there is still wikitext (I'm reasonably sure this is the reason they're going for this combo).
- If you wish to switch from Discussions to DPLforum, from what I know you need to a) contact staff (the "switch" used to be turning off forums; you don't have control over whether Discussions is on or off) and b) can't switch off Discussions if it's already been turned on, only ask staff to re-enable DPLforums' forum namespace since the "switch" to do so is inaccessible to you.

1. Oh yes, you're right, I'm blind, "DPLForum for technical wiki support." Somehow I failed to process this. It's a combo I'm somewhat surprised they're going for, though I'm not necessarily complaining given the aforementioned -well- technical concerns. Guess we'll see how they handle the logistics of it in two days' time.

2. Ah yes, I was being euphemistic; I had heard that one has to now contact Staff with a request for DPLForum now. However, I'd forgotten that Staff might not be willing to switch off Discussions anymore... Damn. I remember when those wikis' Forums were initially switched to Discussions--I remember thinking "I should probably disable this now, while I have the chance."

Since nobody was using Forums on those three wikis, though, it admittedly wasn't high priority. I suppose, with that reasoning, it still isn't actually a 'concern' since nobody uses Discussions either (on those wikis). Granted, I've never tried to develop Discussions, so I could begrudgingly have done/do more on that front.

Certainly the wiki's actual content remains top priority before social features at all times, and I'd say that even if people were actually using the social features.

In any case, cheers for the clarifications. Evidently I simply cannot read today....
