I said this elsewhere, but:

Well, it's finally going to happen. I've been dreading this day, but at the same time, it always seemed so far off. Yet, somehow, here we are. It's hard to picture myself using/participating in CC Forums-as-formatted-in-Discussions; certainly, that is, hard to picture myself enjoying doing so.

Offering aid in Technical Support will definitely be more cumbersome without wikitext, for one thing. Quoting replies is also extremely quotidian practice on CC forums, but that's still not something Discussions does (again, wikitext mourns). ...Why haven't I switched a few wikis I admin from Discussions to DPLForum yet? I should do that.

I can only hope that this...most anticipated migration (rather, its consequences) will...highlight the need for wikitext / richer editing ability on Discussions, because, while the lack of wikitext is far from my only gripe with Discussions, it currently detracts from the experience.

Well, as a reminder to anyone reading this, they updated Discussions to offer an alternate 'condensed' view to the default 'card' view. I highly recommend 'condensed' if you want any semblance of a traditional Forum format. While I continue to dislike Discussions, the infrequent times I use it, my dislike was even more pronounced when Card was the only option. Condensed makes it more bearable.
