The Future of Monobook on FANDOM

On May 25th, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a new European data protection regulation, will go into effect. You can read more about this new law and how it relates to FANDOM here.

Unfortunately, in order to comply with this regulation, we will be removing the Monobook skin from our network on May 25th as it is not possible to bring it into compliance with our updated privacy policy.

We understand that this is a drastic step and represents a significant change for those of you who are still using the Monobook skin, but we must be in compliance with this new regulation. For more information about the GDPR, please see https://www.eugdpr.org/gdpr-faqs.html

Nevermind I see it now. That's just ridiculous. Everything should be displayed automatically.

Eventually, you'll get used to it. The toolbar is pretty handy and pretty useful to access your tools easily.

Anyways, let's end the conversation here. What I would have to say is that I do kinda wish Monobook was still up, but keeping up two skins is a violation to the GDPR. In the meantime, use c:dev:PsuedoMonobook, which is basically a remixed version of Oasis and it makes Oasis look like Monobook. That's currently the best solution; there isn't anything better. This reply should sum it up.

Two skins wasn't the violation. It was that they'd have to (apparently, because of how Monobook worked) have two tracking systems in order to NOT be in violation, just to be clear, and they didn't want to (or couldn't afford to) do such a thing.

Mostly because the lack of choice seems to be the biggest consensus over the past month. Some have legit problems with Oasis, and some just prefer Monobook over it.

Aha. It's because it thinks there's 498 messages (or 499 now), probably (maybe there are two deleted posts or something? IDK how it works). If one more person replied then it would lock, perhaps.
