What is GDPR?
</dd></dl><p>The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union regulation pertaining to data protection and privacy for all individuals who live in the European Union. This regulation goes into effect on May 25, 2018.

What is the Right to be Forgotten?
</dd></dl><p>The Right to be Forgotten is part of the GDPR that applies across the European Union and requires website owners to act on the requests of their European users to have their personally identifiable information removed from the website. FANDOM is in compliance with this regulation.
</p><p>On May 25th, if you reside in the European Union, you can exercise the Right to be Forgotten when logged into your FANDOM account. The process is permanent and cannot be reversed. Users who have requested to be forgotten are welcome to create a new FANDOM account.

How will this affect me?
</dd></dl><p>If you reside in the European Union, you will see a message informing you about how cookies are used on FANDOM and be asked to explicitly opt in or out of accepting those cookies. Note that if you reject cookies you may see ads that are less relevant to you and certain features of the site may not work as intended.
</p><p>Even if you’ve declined cookies, if you make contributions on FANDOM we set a cookie for that information as this is considered fundamental to the operations of our site. However, we will not send your data to our internal analytics tools or to our advertising partners.

What happens to the public-facing parts of an account when a user requests to be forgotten?
</dd></dl><p>Usernames and IP addresses will be anonymized and profile information will be deleted.

What happens to contributions from users who request to be forgotten?
</dd></dl><p>Individual contributions are not personally identifiable information and are unaffected. There will be no change to wiki or Discussions contributions, aside from the removal of all profile content.
