Hey,
our team is working on a feature that will allow users to style infoboxes without necessarity of writing a single line of code or css. We want to make this tool super usefull to everyone and that's why we'd like to learn how you style infoboxes on your communities.
Please describe what do you consider a good looking infobox. What are the typical visual adjustments you make and how do you like your infoboxes styled?
Don't worry about this until it becomes a real usable tool. Right now people are just talking about problems they have run into and suggestions to make it more helpful.
We don't even know if anything will come out of this.

Actually, this is exactly what I wanted to know. And, yes, it does apply to the topic of this thread. What it tells me is that you are using #if instead of the <format> tag. Since the format tag is something that is part of the current styling system for a portable infobox, that tells me that Wikia needs to improve it and/or make its use more obvious.
It clogs up and it isn't necessary! :)
Does that mean labels are not filled anymore with the data's source attribute if missing?
They never were. That was proposed by a user, but not implemented. This way, data fields without labels can be created.
