Anyone know how to get AWB to remove dead files from galleries? I thought it had the ability, but can't figure it out. Cheers!

Dead files? Do you mean files that have been deleted?
Since those do not have File in front, I do not think the file option will work with galleries. So, you will need to go to Options -> Find and replace -> Normal settings and then enter the file name (without File:) in the find place (such as EvergreenFir_Avatar.png). Leave replace with empty.
Another alternative (can delete all files in WantedFiles at once, but has bugs) is pywikipediabot. (Guide).
Yeah, I mean deleted files.
Our Wanted Photos page is quite long and I planned on deleting more image. I wanted to have AWB go through galleries and pages and remove any links to deleted files. Doing it filename by filename wouldn't work too well though. Is there a way for it to just scan a page and remove anything that has been deleted?
Yes, there is a javascript script that will remove any redlinks (deleted images) on a specific pages. This script is in Quick Tools (advanced version).
To remove all of the wanted files at once (max of 1000 per day), it would be pywikipediabot with a batch file.
While I'm at it, if anyone knows how to get AWB to do batch/bulk deletes, please let me know.
Are you installing pywikipediabot?
If so, to do a batch file, you need to name a file as File_unlink.bat (be sure it's not .txt). Here is the code for it:
@echo off for /f "tokens=*" %%a in (C:\Text_files\fileunlink.txt) do ( title UNLINK FILE & C:\Python27\python.exe C:\p\image.py %%a -always -pt:0 -family:whatisyourfamilyname )
I'm using AWB. I could get pywikipediabot I guess. Thank you!
QuickTools kinda helps, but the "remove redlinks" does not seem to work on gallery pages. I've left a comment on the QuickTools talk page
Oh wait! QuickTools will remove brackets [[]] and not the links itself. Sorry.
So, only option left, pywikipediabot.
Thank you!
