Hi.
On a wiki I work on - the Nitrome Wiki - I;m having a problem with users who are new to the wiki uploading fanart and/or personal images. Our policy states that users cannot upload fanart and/or personal images to the wiki.
Now, although users receive a message to read the policy, not all of them make their first contribution via an edit on a page, some simply change their avatar at first, and thus do not receive the wikia welcome message.
In the wikia welcome message, it links to the policy. However, for those who don't receive it, they may be accidentally violating the policy without reading it. Is it possible (via some sort of CSS thing) to add something like "Please read our policy before creating an account" somewhere on the signup page of the Nitrome Wiki?
I am fully aware these actions do not violate Wikia's terms of use, as one section of the ToS state:
- Not to intentionally block, remove, or otherwise obstruct the proper functioning and view of advertisements, and/or user interface and functionality by other users, including but not limited to changing or adding javascript or CSS changes to the Service that would prevent the proper display or function of advertisements and/or user interface and functionality;
What I want to do does not "block, remove, or otherwise obstruct" anything, I just want to add a helpful message to the signup page that prompts account creators to read the policy before creating an account.
Also, when clicking "Photo" or "Add a photo" in "Gallery", is it possible to also have a similar message on each of those aforementioned page boxes?
Thanks.
